Curriculum
Mastering the five- Paragraph Essay

Mrs.Rah’s lesson provides ample practice for the mastery of the five-paragraph essay. Students will be understanding the structure of a well-conceived essay and writing with a focus on ideas, organization, word choice, and sentence fluency. Mini-lessons will be provided to build strength in specific writing skills for each session. The students will go through drafting, revising, conferencing, and editing in a supportive and respectful writers’ community.
연재 선생님의 레슨에서 학생들은 다섯문단에세이를 능숙하게 쓰기위한 연습을 충분히 갖게됩니다 . 잘 짜여진 에세이의 구조에 대한 이해를 얻게 될 것이며, 글쓰는 가운데 주제에 맞는 일관성, 글의 구조, 단어 선택, 문장의 흐름에 대한 연습을 하게 될 것입니다. 교사는 매회 수업에 글쓰기 기술에 대한 실질적인 레슨을 제공할 것이며, 그룹 레슨 경우 학생들은 그룹 멤버들과 함께 협력적이며 존중하는 분위기에서, 1:1레슨 경우 교사와 심도 싶은 토론과 자세한 제안들과 문법 및 단어 선택들의 코칭 가운데, 자신감 있게 글을 쓰고 고치며 의논하고 에디팅하고 발표하는 가운데 글쓰기 실력의 향상을 갖고 오게 될 것입니다.

Four -Track Curriculum
Track 1 : Expository Essay
Track 2: Persuasive Essay
Track 3: Personal Narrative Essay/ Chracter Analysis 1.
Track 4: Character Analysis 2./ Argumentative Essay 1.
총 4 트랙 로 구성되며 각 학기마다 중점을 두는 에세이의 타입이 다릅니다.

Goals
The specific goals are to develop students who
1.. Know why they write 이유, 목적과 읽는 대상파악
2. View writing as a process 글쓰는 것은 결과가 아닌, 과정.
3. Organize ideas before writing 글쓰기 전에 그래픽 오가나이저로 내용 정리하기
4. Use transitions to create flow 접속사 및 전환어의 사용
5. Exercise proper grammar mechanics 문법의 적절한 적용 (구두법)
6. Select sophisticated words 어휘 확장과 선택
